As part of an effort to engage decision makers and community stakeholders on issues related to climate change, adaptation and resilience, BlueGreen Initiative Inc. (BGI), an organization committed to sustainable development in the Caribbean, will be hosting a screening event entitled “Climate Change: Here and Now” a three part film series depicting the impacts of Climate Change in the Caribbean.
Climate Change: Here and Nowis a compilation of short documentaries exploring the impacts of climate variability and change on persons who live and work in coastal communities in the Caribbean.
The series seeks to tell the story of those who are on the front line of climate change and what community driven approaches they are using to cope with the changing times. The aim of the series and subsequent screening is to bring awareness to the reality and day to day impact of climate change, essentially the merging of science and art to “humanize” what can be seen by many as an abstract concept. Through storytelling we relay the stories of every day persons who rely on the environment for their livelihoods.
